About me

Hi, I’m Shaun. I’m an amateur landscape and nature photographer from Yorkshire. I’ve been taking photos of one sort or other since my Dad bought me a Polaroid camera in 1981. I took up photography as a serious hobby in 2008 when I got my first DSLR (again from my Dad), which was a Canon 400D with a kit lens. These days I shoot with Panasonic M43 cameras. A G9, a G80 (85) and a G100. I love the Panasonic M43 system and I”m now pretty invested into it. From a practical point of view the kit is small and easy to carry but still produces great results.

I mainly photograph in my local area, in particular the Hatfield Moors which are very close to my house and provide a wide variety of flora and fauna to photograph.

I don’t really expect anyone to visit this site (I don’t make a point of sharing it). It’s purely here for me to keep a record of what I’ve photographed and where I’ve been. If you are reading this – thanks for visiting!

A personal note

My Dad’s passion for photography was contagious as my elder brother Graham also took it up, then his daughter Sarah followed in his footsteps. We all had a love of nature and landscapes as well as the day to day photography of life. Sadly, my Dad passed away in 2012, then Sarah in 2015 and Graham in 2016. So, I’d like to dedicate this web site and every photograph I take to them.
